Deployment Scenarios

The Collector can be deployed in a number of ways.

We recommend any of these three methods.

Method 1 - DMZ

The Collector sits in a DMZ, there would be firewall rules outbound to the 4 NMS IP addresses on 443. It would also need DNS Individual Rules would need to be implemented so the Collector can see the primary or management IP addresses of the devices it monitors on a range of ports to talk natively to the device

Method 2 - Dual Network

The Collector is deployed with 2 vNICS. One for a management network - which has internet access and the second for an internal network with access to the target network devices.

Method 3 - Reseller

This is common deployment for an ISP or MSP. Whereby multiple networks are deployed - with collectors either running in the MSP/ISP's network and seoerated by firewalls - or running on each customers network, but all traffic is backhauled through the ISP to the master server IP addresses.
